Doctor Who Confidential or “Where’s Dave”

If you didn’t blink, I could be seen on this past weekend’s episode of Doctor Who Confidential.

In my last post, I mentioned the BBC America event in NYC.  DWC was there as well to cover the festivities.  I can be seen a couple times in the outside line footage unaided.  However, since someone I know said that they didn’t want to freeze-frame, here is a still (with a box added around myself) from their speeded-up shots of people entering the theater.

At this point we were heading back down the stairs after being told we could actually sit down in front in an area that an usher thought was reserved.  And we ended up with good seats – second row, right in front of the guests.

So, there’s a couple seconds of my 15 minutes of fame….

How I Spent My Spring Vacation

OK, vacation is a bit strong, but I did manage to sneak a day off back in April to go to New York City for BBC America's premiere event for the new season of Doctor Who. I wasn't first in line (that honor went to my friend Jody Harkavy), but I was close. And of course, being near the front of the line, we both got our names butchered in the article on the News Page of BBC's Doctor Who website. But, hey, any publicity right?  And considering that we spent most of the day in line to get in, it is a nice perk.

I present the following picture for your enjoyment.  It certainly looks like I have the producer’s ear here, doesn’t it?

The original photo can be found in BBC America’s Doctor Who photo gallery on their website.  I also have links to some video of me in line on my YouTube page.

Happy Holidays

As we enter what my employer's handbook calls the "December 25th" holiday, I want to wish everyone a great day.  Whatever holiday you are celebrating, from Christmas to Life Day (yes, I am thinking about digging out my tape of the "Star Wars Holiday Special"), it is my sincere wish that it contains much joy and passes without incident.

Now, I must go back to my annual enjoyment of the "Yule Log" on cable before I have to get some sleep for work later on......
